Fred, on what date did you go to Watchet? And did you visit the Watchet Boat Owners Association?

Hi Huw,
We, Volition, went to Watchet last Saturday 27th, although we had intended to go to Burry Port with Allan but didn't make it. We did go to the Esplanade bar Watchet Boat Owners Assn.
Having to be completely honest, looking at the Blue Book Points list, I think you have credited us twice for Watermouth, because we went at Easter, also to the club house, and you have already given us points for that.

Huw, as you will gather I'm trying to give Bright Flyer a run for their money. Freds post has just reminded me that I went to Watchet for the BCYA English rally, does that get me any extra points?
When I recently went to Ilfracombe I met the guy from Weston, who sails Trivial Pursuit. He is something to do with the BCYA and the blue book. He told me they are so impressed with our Blue book challenge that they are going to start a channel wide version of it in the next edition. Well done. Allan

I believe that you cannot patent something like the "Blue Book Challenge" as it is really just an idea. It may, however be classed as intellectual property. Obviously Shelia would have rights over this, as it was her idea. As this, and other threads exist and mention the BBC(!) provable copyright has been created. The question would be, does it belong to Shelia, CYC or Proboards? May I add another question to ones that this post has created. Does red wine make anyone else come up with this sort of crap? Allan

Fred, if you go to page 1 of this thread you can click on the table to see the positions of everyone. Currently Bright Flyer is in first place followed by Chausey & Volition.
I would advise all to look at the whole list and click on your own entry to ensure that all is up to date before the end of the year, so that we are certain who actually is in the lead. I do not think that by posting on the "Tell us where you've been" thread will up date your Blue Book Challenge points.

Actually, I've got to own up here - it's been a little while since I last updated the blue book site, but I'm off work for a few days now (broken my ribs) so have plenty of time to do it. So, could you all please have a look and let me know where you've been to earn points. Please make sure you give me these three pieces of information:- - The place you went to.
- The date(s) you were there.
- Whether or not you visited the local yacht club.
The blue book site is here:- greyreef.co.uk/bluebook/FullList.asp(click on your boat name to see a break down of your points)

Ok have done these. Allan - Lymouth will only count if you went ashore - did you managed to get ashore?! As we're on a new page I'll repeat what I said before:- I'm looking to update the Bluebook Challenge website; could you all please have a look and let me know if you're due any points. Please make sure you give me these three pieces of information (just like Viv did above):- - The place you went to.
- The date(s) you were there.
- Whether or not you visited the local yacht club.
The blue book site can be viewed here:- greyreef.co.uk/bluebook/FullList.asp(click on your boat name to see a break down of your points that I've entered so far).

Sounds like a pleasant day out Allan lol.
I know I'm not in the running but Sunbeam did Weston (Uphill) on 30/07/11 for the record.

I will get around to clearing this down ready for 2012, I promise! Let me know if the web address changes so that I can update the link from the web site. It would make sense to keep it the same but it would also be interesting to be able to look at each years results as time goes on. Perhaps a dedicated page on the web site would be the way forward that would list each years results. Just thinking out loud really so if anyone has any ideas let me know..

Yes, I agree, and ordinarily, it wouldn't be a problem. I just don't have the time at the moment to alter the code to show successive years. I'm already struggling to remove last years and ready it for this year, and we've started accruing points as it is. I'll do my best, but last year's results may just be a screen dump if I'm to get it done anytime soon. Apologies, Martin

OK, I think I have a compromise.
I've managed to archive the 2011 Blue book data, and I'm in the process of clearing all the database tables so we can start entering the 2012 data. When I get a chance, I'll try and create a new minisite to look at the 2011 data. This may be a while!
