I've been investigating getting a srayhood repaired/ or a new one made and a replacement for a genoa sacrificial strip. Thought I'd share where I had got to, via various useful leads from members of the club. I have a 26foot fin keel yacht.
Severn Sails: £480 +vat new sprayhood designed from scratch £150+vat repair of old sprayhood £160+ vat sacrificial strip
Bristol Sails: £490 +vat for just a copy template of old sprayhood £190+vat sacrificial strip
Wraymarine: £300 +vat template copy of old sprayhood or £350 new design but reluctant to travel from swansea
Jon Sails: chap based in Newport, recently returned to work as a sailmaker. Promises to be lower than above prices... I am getting a quote on tuesday, I may well be his 'guinea pig' for trialling his skills at sprayhoods... I'll let you know how it goes.
Emlyn Canvas: based in newport, will do covers etc mainly for motorboats or anything from a template they said. No quotes over the phone.
A tip I did get was to have a white UV sacrificial strip, so it doesn't look faded over time (my red one looked rubbish quite quick... that said red is the worst colour for fading )
Think I better do some more sailing instead of making my boat look pretty! Its an expensive business.....

The proprietor of Wray marine was basically, an agent who would contract work out to sub contractors I am not aware that any thing has changed.

I use RJ sails in Cleavdon prices much lower than Severn Sails and was able to repair a demage Genoa in 1 week for £50 when others quoted 6 weeks.

I believe that Cath was not happy with the sprayhood. If it's still on Moonshine you may like to have a look and form your own opinion. Allan
