Well, March 1st arrived, gloriously sunny with hardly any wind, and temperature reaching the dizzy height of at least 8 degrees! So having got up early and done most of my housewifely chores by about 11.30, I decided that I could no longer use the excuse of it being too cold to sail, or that I was too busy, and decided that it was high time that I discovered whether I was still brave enough to take the boat out on my own, not having been on my own since sometime last spring.
I am so keen to get the ladies sailing bit going again this year, I thought I ought to practice a bit myself, not having sailed at all since New Years Day, and not having been on Alana since Boxing Day plus 1.
Saw Allan & Brian on the pontoon and said that I was going to give it a bash - Allan responded that I should under no circumstances use the word Bash! Anyway, went out, had a nice sail around. Couldn't get the main sail up because I could not undo the broken zip on the sail cover, but got the genoa up and practiced tacking about a bit in the Bay, and didn't bash into anything when mooring up again!
Sent Louise a text to say what I have been up to, I bet she is so jealous when all she is doing is sailing around the Caribbean in the hot sun and seeing whales and turtles!
Anyway, lets hope that spring has finally sprung, and we all have a brilliant time on the water this season. Any ladies who want to join in, either with me or anyone else, send a pm!
