There was a spinnaker on Ishtar when we bought her, but Louise and I decided we would take it off, at least until we'd mastered the basics of sailing. We took it out yesterday and gave it a go: I'm fairly certain we've not rigged it properly, but we had great fun. Anchored at Flatholm for lunch, then Louise tried raising it and dousing it on her own. On the way back, we seemed to be on collision course with another yacht. We've no idea who this idiot was, he kept coming at us, no matter how much we shouted.

He did catch sight of us in the end, and turned off. He verbally abused us, and gave us a few unsavoury hand signals. I wish I could identify him. ;D

In fairness, he did turn up later with chocolates for Tigger, so we forgave him....... Cheers, Vince! We saw Brian King in the lock, on Simplee Red, but my camera battery had died. Sorry Brian. Louise, myself and Vince all had a lovely afternoon sail, although the winds were a bit light really. So, for all you folk who think the season is over, get out there. I was told by another chap, locking out, btw, that there are cod about. Squid and lugworm are the thing, apparently.
