Did my first single handed lock in/out yesterday. Another challenge that I had set myself, and although Carol was on board with me she was under strict instructions to just sit there and do nothing! Having successfully completed the lock out at 15.00 we had a sail down to the Ranie, and back again for the 16.45 lock in. It was quite breezy, so I only had a reduced head sail up, not wanting to do anything I (and particularly Carol) didn't feel comfortable with, and despite the fact that it was a falling tide (low tide at around 17.00) I thought we didn't make bad progress.
But don't worry chaps, it's hardly unlikely that you'll find me coming through the lock on my own very often, if at all, as I really don't have any interest in single handed sailing (too much like hard work if you ask me!) so no worries about some rogue woman driver trying to park up in the lock and bashing in to your boats!

It would be good to have a ladies team wouldn't it. Definitely would have to include Rowena - Lucy Too, and Wissitt - Andrea, as both being good with sails.
