Managed to get a few hours sailing in last Friday. Louise slept in the car on the way down to llangwm and then we motored off down the river. Still exploring, we wandered down the South side to a pontoon shared by Kelpies boats and Pembroke Haven Yach t club (closed when we were there) We had to be in St Davids by 6pm, so decided to head back. I wanted to sail up the river, rather than motor, and, hard work though it was, we did it.

On the way back up the river there are loads of places to anchor or moor. Rudders boatyard and Lawrenny yacht station being a couple: It really is so peaceful sailing up the river, trees down to the banks, swans, cormorants and gulls, peace and quiet. Louise got into our borrowed tender (cracked and leaking) and carried on cleaning the brown Cardiff Bay scum off Ishtar's hull. We reckon we'll have it finished in time for the trip back to Cardiff........

Saw this in the rain on Sunday. Kelpies/Pembroke haven yacht pontoon is in the background.

We're hoping to escape the haven this coming weekend, when we'll be sailing drom Thursday afternoon until late on Sunday. If the weather is good, we're hoping to get through Jack Sound to St Brides Bay and Skomer. If not, there are loads of anchorages and mooring spots we have yet to find. If anyone is in the area, call us up.
