Nobody likes too many rules, so we'll try and keep these simple. I guess they will evolve over time, as people make suggestions, and please do.
Some basics for now:
1. Do not post personal details, addresses, phone numbers and possibly even email addresses. If you want to give out personal info to someone, do it in a private message, it's safer.
2. Try and remember that this is a family club. There are some checks in place for bad language, but please be careful.
3.Please abide by the usual rules of society with regard to racist, sexist and so on comments. Remember also, that people can, and have been prosecuted for libelous comments on noticeboards and forums.
4. Abuse of other forum members or committee members will not be tolerated. Please also bear in mind that speaking of other clubs and organisations in derogatory terms may lead to such posts being removed. If you must engage in such activity, use the personal message system, or discuss it elsewhere.
5. For Sale and wanted posts - Can you please state when items are no longer available, or required, it saves people asking?
6. Spamming. We reserve the right to remove spam posts, and posts which involve blatant advertising.
That's enough for now, advice and help with these gladly accepted.

Important Notice, July 2009.
I've changed the 'Club notices' section of the forum. Only registered members can now view the contents. In essence, this will now be a club 'private' area.
It was brought to my attention that some people were unhappy that unscrupulous browsers might be able to read posts relating to, for example, club security. I will move any such posts in future to the club notices section, so that they may only be viewed by members.
I would respectfully ask that:
1. All board members please think about who might read their post, and whether any aspect of the club might be compromised by the post. If so, post it in the 'club notices' section.
2. If anyone feels that any such post exists elsewhere on the board, can they please pm me and I will move it? I do read all of the posts where possible, but I could easily miss one.
Thanks,
Admin

In addition to the above points, in a discussion with the club committe regarding the forum, and it's use as a communication method within the club, can I just clarify one point?
The forum is not the primary means of communication when it comes to suggestions about the running of the club. Your rule book clearly states that such suggestions should be made in writing, and placed in the suggestions box at the club. Suggestions must be signed.
The committee do read the forum, however, and have pointed out that if people do wish to make suggestions here, they should be made with the poster's full name added to the post, and not 'anonymously', using a forum login name.
Thanking you for your co-operation.
