If things stay as they are, weatherwise, Louise and I are taking Ishtar to Milford this coming weekend. Leaving Cardiff at HW Friday, overnight Swansea-ish and then down to Milford and up the river with the flood to Saturday afternoon to our mooring at Llangwm.
I then have to dive on the mooring and attach a new chain and head buoy, remove the old hawser and, if all goes to plan, we will cruise the haven and river on Sunday and Monday, leaving Ishtar there and returning on Tuesday.
Fingers crossed.

Hopefully I will be leaving 08-00hrs Friday and going to Clovelly to pick up Edwina before heading for the Helford river in time for a pint on Saturday night. Have a great time in Milford, when are you back? Allan

We have use of the mooring until October, but I don't want to leave it too late. I reckon we'll have a couple of weeks sailing and then come back in August. Still seems so little yime.
Hope the trip goes well, was hoping to catch up with you, but kept getting tied up. Say Hi to Edwina and the charming Lilly. Tigger is recovering well.

When will we see you all again? The place won't be the same without you. We are off to Lydney all being well on Friday too. I think we'll be leaving around 17.00 - 18.00 hours on route to Portishead (depending on when Vince can finish work) then up to Lydney Saturday morning for the rally, and back to Cardiff in one leg on Sunday. I will have to work at 06.30 Monday so can not stay overnight.
I will give Peter your regards Allan, and let him know that he is your new hero!
Enjoy your respective trips everyone, and see you whenever!

Ishtar and you guys have been part of the furniture at CYC for the last year, its been strange not seeing a bald head bobing around pontoon C!
Bet it will be nice to have Ishtar sailing in water that isn't brown. Have a good sail and good luck with the weather.

Matt:
Life is what happens when you are making other plans, as they say. With our current experience, I'd say that a trip like this, and sailing away from one's home port for an extended stay was a year away. The opportunity came up of a free mooring, and that opportunity is gone this winter. Ready or not, therefore, we are going to give it a go.
It causes all sorts of problems, not least of which, the facility to sail in the week, and during evenings, but I do hope that sailing in Pembs will make up for it.
Sheila/Vince: Although we won't be able to sail Ishtar, I think we will still be down the club on Wednesdays, and maybe come out as crew when the club is sailing. I won't risk leaving Ishtar down there and coming back in the autumn, so I think she'll be back in Sept at the latest.
It's a huge leap into the unknown, but the tides are right, fair weather and Easterlies, and hopefully I can sort out the mooring when we get there. Looking at the tides and weather, if we didn't try it this weekend, we may not have the same conditions for a while.
Pics and vids of the trip, successful or otherwise, next week.
M.
