New Sailing Secretary needed.

Hi Everyone,



From today I am standing down as Cruising Secretary for personal reasons. I have enjoyed doing this for the last few years and have met a lot of new people and made many good friends. I must say that its been a great way to improve my social life! Please let me know if any of you would like to take over. I would be happy to go through anything with anyone about the job. I have posted below a summary of the duties.

Duties



1/ Organising CYC cruiser trips in company – Contacting marinas/clubs to organise in advance of our visit, working out tide times, advertising event on various media, etc

2/ Organising winter talks, quizzes, craft/arty nights, etc.

3/ Preparing monthly newsletter with relevant upcoming events.

4/ Sending emails about upcoming events and posting them on the CYC forum and facebook site.

5/ Preparing table top menus displaying upcoming events.

6/ Keeping the cruiser database up to date and liaising with Karen Morgan to keep her text database list updated.

7/ Meeting new members to promote the club and how to join, etc…

8/ Thursday night sailing taking newcomers or people who want to improve themselves or just get experience on different sailing boats.



Allan Fawcus will now be the current point of contact for anything that I was dealing with until a replacement is appointed.

I wuold like to thank Mathew for all the work he has put in as Sailing Secretary. His organised "Cruises in Company " have been the envy of many Clubs.

I second that...although I havent been able to make as many cruises as I would have liked, I am always kept well-informed and know that the option is there if/when I can make it!

Until someone volunteers to take on the emailing list will you still send out any relevant messages/advices or will no-one be doing it?
