Hi Martin & Louise, welcome back. You rather beat me to it in getting photos on the site. It seems you did much the same as us. We had a fabulous fortnight, sailing in a flotilla with 8 other boats (plus lead boat). We went with Sailing Holidays, and can thoroughly recommend them if anyone fancies a flotilla holiday. We had been expecting to sort of have to "follow my leader" as it were, but it was more or less free sailing every day, just with instructions to be at a certain place by a certain time. The evening social life was great too, basically a fortnight of drinking! Glad to get back to give the liver a rest!
Here are a few of our photos. Sadly we are neither very good at photos, nor do we have a great camera. But you get the gist.
Our sailing area was from Corfu in the north, to Levkas in the south, much like Martin & Louise
We actually did, Gouvia Marina to Corfu Sailing Club - day 1
Corfu SC to Sayiadha (mainland)
Sayiadha to Syvota/Mourtos (mainland).
Unfortunately while on route to Syvota/Mourtos we had severe engine trouble and had to be towed in. We then had to hang around until early afternoon of the following day until the chief engineer had been and decided that we should return to Corfu (Petriti) for a new enging to be fitted. In the meantime the rest of the flotilla proceeded on to Lakka for that night.
On our arrival at Petriti, the engineer and his 2 colleagues proceeded to take out the old engine and fit the new one in about two and a half hours! Not bad going. Meanwhile the four of us just had a great meal in a local taverna and loads of wine, naturally, and set back out to join the rest of the flotiilla the following day, calling in to Lakka to see what we had missed on the way.
