BCYA meet in Watchet. More details nearer the time although I'm guessing the usual hog roast, music, etc...

18:33.....10.8 HWI plan to leave on the Saturday myself for the trip as have work committments but I'm sure a few of you will go up on the Friday. I plan to leave 4 hours before HW as tried 3 hours before and just missed the gate by 10 mins  Last year there were 50+ visiting boats and its a great event. Ocean Factor and crew will be going on the 13.30 lockout on Saturday. Let me know if anyone wants to travel along with us on the day.

I've been speaking to quite a few people who are planning to go on the trip from our club and elsewhere so should be a good crowd as long as the weather is nice.

Now I have seen the weather, I have decided to leave quite early on the tide Friday. The tide is quite small, little more than 6m. The gate times are:- 01:38 Gate Opening 05:40 Gate Closing 14:12 Gate Opening 18:11 Gate Closing I hope to be in around 15:00. Didn't make the early lock but had a good sail over with Gofa and Magic wand. It was a nice weekend, with good company and a couple of drinks on Saturday night.
The marina is still mostly full of mud so £11 a night is not cheap but OK.
I got out about half an hour before I was expecting to, so with 12-16kts of wind behind me I got to the outer harbour in about 3 1/2 hours.
Another nice trip, where next?

I have a plan for 7th March 2014! My cousin from Reading plays in a band (well two actually) and they play all over Europe. They are playing in Ilfracombe on that night. Not sure if they are doing their Deep Purple thing or the Elton John thing. Either way, weather, time & Vince permitting I'd like to have a club cruise over there!
