I think I might be going out on a limb starting this with the cold weather like it is but I guess we have to start at some time . Meet down at the footbridge on pontoon 'C' between 5pm and 5.30pm to discuss boats to take out, who is crewing and where to go (usually in the bay on a triangle course or around flat holm depending on weather and tide). This is a good opportuntity to try other peoples boats for size, speed, etc or impart your experience and knowledge on others. People new to sailing are more than welcome and you can join as crew on one of the boats or we can take yours out and see how she handles. Finishes around 8pm where we retire for drinks in the bar. Email me if you want any more information on this or just turn up on the day ;D ! (this is of course weather dependant and maybe cancelled at short notice via this forum). Its quite windy tomorrow so we may or may not end up going out for a sail. Either way I will be down the club between 5pm and 5.15pm and if we don't go out we can discuss 'boaty' related topics or assist in getting each others boats ready for when we do go out or any work that needs to be done.

The wind looks quite high tomorrow at 30+ so am not going down for a sail. Will be down at the bar later though for a drink.
At least the weekend is supposed to be lovely for the Portishead trip.

Thursday evening sailing 13th June 2013
As most of you know I've been out of action as far as sailing goes and the Thursday meet ups seem to have not gotten any impetus. The weather is great at the moment and I think its time we tried to get more people out on the water. Its the regatta next weekend and people will need practice ready for the races as well as brushing up on skills. Its lighter later so we can stay out longer too. My hand is still not up to pulling ropes but would love to be a passenger and am happy to helm.
Meet down at the flag pole (next to the wooden benches) at the club between 5.30 and 6pm to discuss boats to take out, who is crewing and where to go (usually in the bay on a triangle course or around flat holm depending on weather and tide). This is a good opportunity to try other peoples boats for size, speed, etc or impart your experience and knowledge on others. People new to sailing are more than welcome and you can join as crew on one of the boats or we can take yours out and see how she handles. Finishes around 8pm or 9pm where we retire for drinks in the bar.
Email me if you want any more information on this or just turn up on the day. It would be helpful if you could post here if you are coming so we know numbers. (this is of course weather dependent and maybe cancelled at short notice via the forum.

Had a good sail yesterday on Arietta with Keith, Joff and Polly. Winds were gusting up to 26 kts so it was a bit blowy trying to get off the pontoon. The sun was shining however and thoroughly enjoyed it. Hope to see more members Next Thursday . Matt

Myself, Joff, Dean, Polly and Tony had a sail in very light winds last Thursday but great to be out on the water.
Will be down again at 5.30 this week on the benches next to the flagpole at the club.

Lots of drizzle last Thursday but it didn't stop us going for a sail in the bay! After dropping the crew onto Liz's new boat (which is pretty nippy for her size) we headed off on a triangle course. The wind wasn't that strong but quite gusty in places. Boats that went out were:
Ocean Factor - Myself, Rhian, Dean Sunbeam - Joff, Matt Cherry Blossom - Liz, Keith, Polly
See you this Thursday.

3 boats went out last Thursday in very flukey winds. Nothing then a sudden gust. It was nice for me to get out on a smaller boat that was easy to handle with no winching needed. Genevieve - Joff, Allan, Polly, Gary, Dean Verns Way - Tony, Martin Molian - Rhian, Jenny, myself GenevieveSee you again this Thursday! Matt

Ocean factor went out last Thursday with Keith and Joff. Bit of rain and getting dark early. A bit of a change from a month ago when we were sunning ourselves on deck.
It will be the last official Thursday night sail tomorrow due to the nights drawing in. I'll be down the club at 5.30 at the benches. Pm me if you want to come or post on this thread.

Megilea - Gary & Me Genevieve - Joff & Allan Arietta - Keith & Rhian
As the weather isn't too bad I'll be down the club at 5.30pm tomorrow at the benches if anyone wants to come out. I think we still have a Thursday or two left.
See you then!

Nice bit of wind on Thursday, just right, watching the sun go down while the first chill of the winter starts to appear.
Megilea - Gary, me, Polly, Grant
This was definitely the last Thursday evening sail of the year due to the poor light conditions.
Thanks for all those who came out in 2013 as we had some fantastic sails in various conditions. I look forward to 2014!
