Blue Book Points. Portishead Trip 20th April For the BCYA Blue Book Challenge the points awarded should be Visiting a yacht/Sailing Club listed in the Blue Book 2 points (PCC) Taking part in an official club cruise 2 points. therefore by my calculations 4 points should be awarded to the following boats Volition, Xanadu, Magic Wand, Gofa, Shooting Star, Lucky Duck, Coracle, Moonstruck, Larc, Wyndsong, Arrietta, Sunbeam, Annie, Kipperhips, Illusion, High Spirits, Ardua Runagane has gained 3 points for taking part in an official club cruise (2 points) and visiting a marina or anchorage listed in the blue Book (Portishead quays Marina) 1 point.
The points are for the boat, and I have treated the visit to PCC as 2 points in the spirit of we would have all sailed & moored up there if it had been possible. Therefore I have not included the 1 point for visiting a marina as I think that would be a duplication. Would someone confirm these with me please. Thanks

I've just noticed that there is an error in the Bluebook application. I haven't touched it since I cleared down the data. I have asked my ISP to look into it. Please be patient.

Yes we did Duncan, actually it was New Years Eve. No-one has done anything about the points for that yet. These points are now too late for the BCYA BBC being more than 3 months past. There are also points due for the Easter Cruise. I don't know who is co-ordinating this.

(Sadly, Lundy Island is not in the BB either!) 17th May, Instow and a visit to North Devon YC, they were not as friendly in the bar as they were last time, they were having a Dart 18 rally as well so all dinghy sailors - 2 points 18th May, Clovelly, no YC there 1 point 19th to 21st Padstow Harbour, no YC there 1 point 22nd to 26th May, Ilfracombe, visiting YC, taking part in Round Lundy Race, (sadly came 4th so no points) 2 points for visiting the club, plus 2 bonus points for visiting during their regatta (Lundy Race should count) Note, the BCYA allows extra points for actually taking part in another club's regatta, as well as visiting during a regatta. We don't seem to have that in our rules.

This is so Embarrassing -after all the hours I spend setting up the forum, the trauma of it all, and now, the admin just can't be arsed! it's such a sad day. Almost as sad as our club members crossing the pond on someone else's boat, I mean, WTF! Apologies for the delay. Martin, last weekend Voliton, Preceptor, Atiqua & Enigma went to Burnham on Sea as part of the no 2 fleet of the club cruise. Voliton already has points for Burnham (or at least has already reported a visit) but we want the points for the club trip please.

Sui, Your so right. We haven't had a video from admin for some time. Its about time he showed his face. Remember before they crossed the pond on someone else's boat - Admin used to give on board, bread cooking tips - assist in boat deliveries and video his adventures. Now as you put it so nicely- he cant be arsed. ;D WTF - Where's The Fun - gone.

;D he's biting his tongue, making all sorts of replies, but he not replying ;D And I draw the line at him showing that face! Of course, it's difficult to get up from the sofa and type on the keyboard, but in all fairness, he did read the South Wales Echo weather and send it to Allan ;D I think Louise should take over - she does everything else ;D ;D ;D he he he - I can hear the grinding of teeth from here ;D Sui, Your so right. You never know, he might improve - Once the Rugby Season starts- cos he'll have to use his laptop to check the fixtures. ( That's if Louise has remembered to recharge it ;D ;D) He'll be saying next he's been doing work around the Bungalow and grounds.

Can someone advise - wrt Moontide. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Note to self. I'll continue updating the scores at post 17, once these have been clarified.

Thank you Martin, that is all fair enough. I wonder if we should amend the rules, because getting a winning place in someone else's regatta surely deserves extra points. I think we are due to have a sailing section meeting very shortly, so perhaps we can put that on the agenda and agree on a rule change.

Martin, Brilliant reply to the banter. Good to see the admin hasn't lost his sense of humour I was getting worried about him. This blue book challenge is getting very competitive this year. As Sheila and yourself say, the rules may need to be updated with regards to the placings and points awarded in other clubs regattas Surely if there is a change in rules, then the changes cannot be implemented until next years BB challenge, as you can't change the rules half way through a competitive year. ;D Just busy, mate. Louise is working constantly, and, worse than that, I seem to be too. I didn't know whether or not to ban you both, or perhaps create a Junk Sailing Forum, and put Father Jack in there on his own. ;D
