Just wanted to let you all know that the club's six young sailors did very well this weekend at the Llangorse Lake Onboard Regatta. Our four Topper sailors came 5th, 6th, 8th and 10th out of 26 boats in the Topper Onboard fleet; our two young Oppy sailors (who were the 3rd and 4th youngest at the event) came 11th and 12th out of 25 in the Optimist Bat fleet. Whilst they didn't return with any silverware, I think this is a superb result for the first youth event of this type, at which the Club has been represented.
Many thanks to all the CYC instructors and helpers for the first class tuition, without which these young sailors would never have managed to out-sail more experienced children from other clubs with far more established and equipped training facilities. It's worth remembering that we've only had a training school for three years, but hopefully, with continued training of this standard and a little more experience at these type of events, silverware isn't too far away! Thanks for your efforts guys.
