Portishead Club Cruise Weekend 24th-25th March.
Join us for a weekend away in Portishead. Portishead boasts a 5 gold anchor marina, and is probably one of the easiest destinations in the Bristol Channel. A perfect first trip for the less experienced and a great 'shake down' cruise in company for the old sea dogs! Motorboats also welcome.
The marina is hosting a boat jumble in their car park from 10am on the Sunday.
Meet for evening drinks in 'The Royal' a few minutes walk from the marina.
Tide Saturday 24th March - Cardiff:- 0756 12.1m 1409 1.1m 2011 12.0m
It is the sole and inescapable responsibility of the skipper to decide whether to enter or continue participating in any event, especially with regard to prevailing and forecast weather conditions. Please also ensure your vessel and it’s equipment is in a sound and seaworthy condition and that you and your crew are suitably experienced, properly prepared, equipped and clothed for adverse weather as required.

Just received this notice to Mariners from Portishead. Which may effect people planning to go to Portished on Friday night.
Notice to Mariners Pier Light The navigation light on the end of the pier is currently not working. Please be aware of this when arriving and departing the marina in times of reduced visibility. The light is outside of our jurisdiction and after repeated attempts to get this matter addressed it is debatable as to who should make the repairs. We will continue to seek a resolution.
See you all there
Cheers Steve D

We were thinking of locking out at 1pm and heading down to the South Cardiff buoy and heading on up from there.

We're toying with the idea of going up on Friday. If we do, we'll spend Saturday finishing off all the jobs we've started and not yet done.........

Sorry, no deals on at the Marina but there is plenty of room for us all!
Don't forget everyone that you will lose 1 hour's sleep on Saturday night as clocks go forward for BST.
Don't forget to adjust your tide times on Sunday!

High water Avonmouth on Saturday is 20.28. Access to marina is 3 1/2 hrs either side, so 17.00 should be about it. Some of us will not be leaving until 14.30 ish, particularly us as we have to get back in the water first!
At my count last night I think there are about 15 boats going!

I believe 16 boats attended this event, and it was greatly enjoyed by all. I'll post phottos and a trip report shortly.

A fun weekend, reasonable sail up and a great sail back. The pub was good last night too. Even a grumpy old git like me can't think of a negative about it! Thanks to all. Allan PS Just thought, Uncle Steve out sailing us on way back was a negative.

I will advise Huw of the names of all the boats that attended so they can get their Blue Book points.
