I am in the middle of putting a new sea toilet and pipe-work in my Westerly Griffon, Alegria (in the compound). I have now spent 2 frustrating days unsuccesfully trying to get the 11/2" pipe on to the tail of the seacock. I tried heat and hot water and can get thepipe started on the tail but not a millimeter further, partly due to the position of the assembly. Any bright ideas?

Have you tried any lube? I'd reccommend Hellerine, though any light oil should work. Not sure how some oils would effect the pipe though. Hellerine won't damage it.

Another thought - you can get lube oil for the toilet valve - which must be safe on the pipe.
Try not to get the oil on the outside of the pipe though as it will be difficult to grip.

I've always found Fairy liquid good for that sort of thing (other washing up liquid brands are available)

If the pipe is rubber put it in boiling/very hot water, this will make the end of the pipe more flexible then use a lot grip and push. Works for me everytime, good luck
