Weston Bay YC (Weston-Super-Mare) have their regatta on 14th - 15th May. They have just added an extra pontoon so can now accomodate even more of us.
This is planned as a club cruise across to Weston so there are 6 Blue Book points on offer in total! That’s 2 points for visiting a Bristol Channel YC, plus 2 for it being during their regatta, plus 2 points for it being as part of a CYC cruise.
Who's interested?
I already know Sheila and Vince are planning to go.

Sorry to say that I will be in Spain at that time, suffering 3 weeks of glorious sun, sand, seafood and sangría. Hope you all have a good time. Lyndon

Yes Allan. Going to get on my boat and go to Weston. :-)
Seriously though, I've just looked at the tides and it's going to be quite a civilised start. Around lunchtime.
There are two issues as I see it. Firstly, in an ideal world, we will want to aim to be at Uphill more or less at slack water high tide to avoid the currents in the river Axe. Secondly we will all want to moor to the pontoon with the bigger boats on the inside as we did before, so smaller boats are not going to want to get there first and have to motor round in circles waiting. Therefore I suggest everyone starts out at more or less the same time. Natural selection will get the bigger boats there first!
High tide Cardif on Sat is 16:17 and Weston is 5 mins earlier, so depending on the wind we won't need to lock out until 13:00ish.
What does everyone else think?
Julian.
