Samson, a new fishing boat to the club, owned by Carl a work colleague, had a bad leak through a bolt in the cutless bearing housing. My attempts to seal this whilst scuba diving had almost cured it, but to be sure Carl wanted to beach the boat and do a more thorough job.
I had concerns about Camelot's anode bonding so decided to join him.
We decided on Jackson's Bay as our destination, and arrived a little over an hour after HW at 1345. We gently beached the boats and then waited for the tide to ebb.
We had a productive day and were joined after school by Angie and the kids.
We refloated at 2310 and returned to Cardiff.
If you plan to do the same you'll probably find that somewhere near 8.6m of tide is ideal for beaching at Jackson's. The sand isn't too steep, and you're above the mud.
