Hello all Heres a few pretty pictures from my last few trips. In the last few weeks we've seen a Turbot, and a new boat record grace the decks of Mandor. As well as..ahem... on a personal note, I've finally got a piece of the Blonde Ray action which now completes my Ray challenge! Thornback, check, Spotted, check, Small Eyed, check, & Blonde, check! ;D I can sell the boat now I reckon. Enjoy... Steve, Turbot. Turbot, Steve. (Another fish ticked off on the list of species aboard) So I met up with an old school friend (Paul Sweeney), as sometimes happens. Then after a few weeks you invite him out on the boat for a fishing trip. He's no good at fishing but fancies the relaxation so comes along for the ride. And then , lets see, on his 1st cast he breaks your boat record with a 15lb Blonde Ray. Thanks a bunch, your a hustler. I'll call you mate. Oh, and thats not all, he don't like touching them! So I had to hold HIS record up for the money shot... There's unspoken rules Paul Ok, back to my own catches. I never tire of these Spotted Rays. They are stunning. And here it is! The Blonde Ray that completed the challenge for me. It wasn't the heaviest that day thanks to the hustler but surely it was the best looking? Soon after on the same trip I up my PB by a pound. Here's a darker but heavier 14lb Blonde. All fish pictured so far returned safely. Every passenger taken so far returned safely...except Paul Mark

Well done Mandor, excellent pictures, glad you have managed to get out to enjoy your sport. Strong winds of late have stopped most of us fishermen getting out and am glad you have written your report, I am sure your report will encourage more of us to get out there fishing, so where are these hot spots? Ha!

Sorry for the thread hi-jack - I made a post a couple of months ago titled 'What rig to troll behind a sailing yacht???' but haven't had any answers - any of you fishermen able to help?
I'm happy enough with towing some feathers in clear water but that doesn't seem to work in the Bristol Channel's chocolate milkshake coloured water, and I don't want to be changing bait every 15 mins because it's washed out... Any suggestions on how I can catch my tea?
