Yesterday I did my Race for Life for Cancer research. I thought that I would go to the club afterwards to see if I could get any more donations from our lovely generous members, I thought there would be bound to be a few having socially distanced drinks outside on such a lovely afternoon. Nope. Bar was closed. Is it going to open again at this year do you think?
I don't know how I heard it, or where from, but I think I heard that the bar committee is going to allow more money to be carried over on bar prepayment cards this year due to the lack of opportunities to spend on the bar cards.
I would suggest that rather than charge everyone bar prepayment again in January, why not completely waive the bar prepayment for 2021 as it is unlikely that the bar will be open through the winter and early in the new year. It would also save a lot of administration work, (loading the funds on to the cards). It is my belief, educated guess from having worked the bar several times during the year, that there are still members whose bar cards have not been loaded with their prepayment from this year.
Does anyone agree that waiving the prepayment for 2021 is sensible, and if so will you second that proposal if I put it to the committee.

This is a difficult one Sheila, as at present we are not able to pay for bar purchases using cash. I dont know why the bar was closed last weekend. I thought there were plenty of volunteers. The management committee does seem to have more challenges in caring for the members than ever. I do however understand your suggestion but without payment of some sort it would not be viable
