Cardiff Harbour Notice to Mariners for your information if required. No 01 – Cardiff Head of the Taff – Sunday 29th January 2017 On Sunday 29th January 2017, the Cardiff Head of the Taff rowing will take place on the River Taff. Racing will take place between Castle Street Bridge and the outer navigation buoys, at the entrance to the River Taff. Racing will take place between approximately 1000 to 1100 and 1330 to 1430 hours. All unauthorised vessels will be excluded from entering the River Taff during these times. There will be restricted use of the slipway at Channel View during the racing times, and an exclusion zone boat will be stationed between the PDR bridge and the Sandwharf flats, enforcing the closure. Any vessels that wish to navigate from Channel View (Cardiff Bay Water Activity Centre) or downstream of Clarence Road Bridge during this period should contact the Harbour Master or Barrage Control who will be in contact with race management vessels who will be able to advise when navigation is possible. Mariners are reminded that CCTV is in operation at the Barrage for operational and health and safety reasons. All CCTV images and VHF transmissions are recorded.
