As the clubs BCYA Rep I have received this mail from the Marina with the latest news about the current facilities available for the forthcoming season Kerry I wanted to provide you with a quick status of things here in Watchet, for you to be able to brief your club. I am the owner (and now manager) of the marina here in Watchet and over the last few months have been making changes and investing heavily to improve the operation and upgrade the general experience that our customers receive. Firstly, the gate is now fully back in commission and fully automatic, which is a major relief and has now been working reliably for some months. Secondly, dredging has now been completed in 80% of berths in the marina and we have now allocated an area that will allow visiting boats to be afloat at all states of the tide and moored together to facilitate group visits. Further dredging is planned but this will not impact visitors. Thirdly, we are currently upgrading our WC facilities and these will be completed in the next 2 weeks. We recognise that clean, modern WCs / showers are a pre-requesite to a great visitor experience which is our aim. Lastly, we have now opened our own on-site cafe offering amazing all-day breakfasts, lunches and afternoon teas from 8am to 5pm. A great place to recover from the journey to Watchet. We have now printed our 2016 marina year books - If you would like some copies, please let me know. I look forward to seeing you and your members in Watchet soon. best regards Tim Taylor 01984 631264
