Hi Everyone,
We visited Dale last summer and absolutely loved it there, and were thinking of joining the yacht club there and basing our boat there for all of August this year, moving down after Bristol harbour fest, and back up in the first week of September. We saw loads of CYC boats there and speaking to a few people it seemed that there were quite a few members with moorings, and that loaning moorings out was acceptable at Dale. Does anyone know if this is the case? And if it is, are there any club members that would consider renting their mooring to us for those 6 or 7 weeks please? We require 2m to float so im not sure if that rules any of them out.
Also, does anyone have any recommendations of must-go places that we could fit into a 3 week cruise out of Dale? Skomer island is on the list, would love to go across to Island if there are any particularly nice places to visit easily accessed from Dale, further round Pembrokeshire would be nice as well.
Thanks!

In 2014 we went to Ireland. Just over 11 hours sail from Dale to Kilmore Quay. From there a 7 hour sail up to Waterford, lovely city to visit, nice moored alongside the pontoon at the marina in the town. A 6hour sail from Dunmore East to Dungarvan, also a lovely place. Friendly yacht club, good facilities. Moor on the yacht club pontoon (although they do charge). Kinsale is lovely, Mike Jones-Downing did Dale to Kinsale in one hit. Courtmachserry is super. There are loads of lovely places you can go to if you have 3 weeks Dan. Have a chat next time you are around!

Sounds awesome, I remember reading about your trips in 2014, sounded lovely. Also saw a few places like courtmacsherry on cody hwyl. We fancy trying a longer overnight passage this year so might try Kinsale in one go then work back towards kilmore possibly. Thanks for the recommendations!
