Hi there.
I am new to this so apologies for any forum errors.
I am looking to buy a motor cruiser/speedboat second hand and wondered
1. If you can recommend any good places online to look
and
2. How much in fuel it could approximately cost to go from the UK to the Med?
Best wishes
Charlie

Charlie, Welcome to our forum. Question one is relatively easy to answer, Google:- Apollo duck. Boats and outboards. YBW boats for sale. Question two is almost impossible to answer. The best I can say is very small displacement hull could use less than one litre per hour. A large planning petrol motor cruiser could easily use 20 litres or more per hour. Last year I did 2400nm in my 10m boat and spent a bit more than £100 on diesel. That is only possible because wind is free! It is important to decide what you want from a boat before you start looking seriously. I hope that helps. Allan

Hi Charlie,
a rough rule of thumb for a Diesel engined boat is divide the HP by 4 and that gives you the ltrs per hour, EG 200hp = 50ltrs per hour.
as allan has said you need to decide what you want the boat for. chris
