Warren, Can you say that the BHF will defo take place as I have heard that BHF has lost its sponsor? To those who didn't go last year, do book for this year as you will not be disappointed, don't wait, book ASAP
Yes you are quite correct in saying that it is defo a date to book, we all had a great time last year and will be looking foreword to a repeat this year, (Warren don't forget your dingy!!)

It was no surprise EDF was pulling out , Bristol harbour festival authorities was very open and keen to let everybody know that last year was the end of this great partnership. Saying that, last I heard is that they were in negotiations with four other companies and this is written on there web site. My thoughts are they might have to watch the pennies this year and we may see activities on a budget, but that's not what it is all about as far as I'm concerned. Give me a pontoon birth, a few beers some friends, boats on water. HAPPY DAYS!! So to answer the question Yes get in early, try and get on the same pontoon as CYC and bring the barbie. ;D

That sounds good news for the BHF, we have at least one trip to look forward to. Lets hope the weather is more stable through out the year and just maybe we Mobos can get some cruising in. I note the Club have a lot more member Mobos and am sure they would love to get out and visit other parts of the coast via the Marinas, perhaps we can organize a few trips in the future to Watchet, Portishead,Swansea, and Bristol, what do you think? also what do other forumites think?

Thought it might be a good idea to put a poll up to see what interest we have, of course the weather is a big factor and work commitments, but we could be in for a good summer and I for one do not want to be getting a tan on my CYC mooring.
See how it goes!!

I'm the cruise coordinator for the club sailing yachts - all mobo's are welcome to join us on our cruises (though you may want to leave a little later than us!!). I'll be posting the details of the next few cruises here early next week after I've sorted a couple of details.

Many thanks for the invite to join you on your cruises, I for one would be delighted to join and am sure other Mobos would if they do not have work commitments. I have cast MY vote, any Mobos wishing to join cast your vote so all concerned have an idea as to were to go etc. then perhaps we could go in convoy and pass all the sailer boys and girls and bag all the good places......Ha! Seriously ......THANKS.
Everything is now crossed and the prayer mat is out and prayin for fine weather,..........Amen!

The forum was set up to cover the four 'branches' of the club, Sailing, dinghies, fishing and rowing. If there's interest, I'll create a board for motor boats. Let me know what you think.

Thanks for the consideration of a Mobo section, a good idea. What do others think? Is there enough interest? It only takes two boats to go somewhere and then report back telling everyone what a great time we had and off we go!!! I note that a lot more Mobos have joined the club. Tell us what you think here........you know you want to.

I can't help thinking that it would be better to just have a cruising section which includes mobos and raggies. We all just want to go to new places, get out on the water and enjoy ourselves, ideally with good company.
It doesn't really matter how we get there, we can all have our own prefered brand of fun on the way.

Good Idea, having a Mobo section, with no fish in the sea we should find some of the fishing boys joining us as well. The sailing section looks like it has taken off due to this approach so I am all for it. I think it will come in to it's own in the summer when it will be a up and go approach, of coarse well planned trips should be for all as it always have been. I think we are still a bit thin on the ground regarding Mobos on the web, a computer and a Internet connection in the club could be a way forward, for educational purposes of course

Don't know if you're aware but there is already a wifi internet connection at the club. Have PM'd you the details. Very useful for checking weather and tides before we go out.

It would be nice if the club had an external aerial which could be picked up on the moorings. Allan
