Vince shows us how to moor a dinghy! Julian and Cath claim last place, with Julian's enviromentally freindly electric outboard. Cath jumped ship again after another one way trip with Julian, prompting Julian to comment "yeah, she never goes all the way!"

Looks like freat fun. Did Vince overturn his dinghy? The weather looked a bit rough for his helming skills.
I was working on the house and Louise trying to sort out a failed alternator on Ishtar. I'm sure we'll get all our responsibilities sorted soon, but then, I've been feeling like that for weeks!

Actually, looking at Allan, I think he meant business. Was he spotted furiously reducing weight from his tender at the start, setting the outboard to 'sport' rather than economy setting? It even looks like he shaved his ead like a swimmer, to get extra speed.
He does have a bit of a disadantage in the power to weight ratio, though.
;D

No, Vince didn't overturn the dinghy! What a cheek! We did have a mini domestic though when we arrived at the landing stage, Vince telling me to moor the dinghy, me saying I don't know how to park it up, then Vince taking over and making a real hash of it - tee hee! With all the people who were queueing for the water taxi looking on! Allan impressed us all yet again (as he did at the Jackson's Bay BBQ) with his gourmet picnic - Buck's Fizz, Cheesecake, real top food! The picture of "Uncle" Steve whizzing along in his dinghy puts me in mind of a bloke from the SBS on a dangerous mission to invade some occupied territory or something.

See, I warned you about Vince's skills. Just a thought, if Allan wants to win the event next year, maybe he should lay off the Cheesecakes and buck's fizz in favour of a stick of celery and a drop of water from the Taff. I understand these things, you see........

Sheila, I felt like a bloke from the SAS on a dangerous mission trying to invade some occupied territory passing the irrate rowers. ( Especially passing the coaching boat with the Mega phone) I did get worried at one stage when they were using me as a pace boat and all 3 boats of rowers succeeded to pass me. Good thing I blacked up, at least I won't be recognised in the bar at a later date.

Steve, if you're in the bar and I don't speak to you, it's because I can't recognise you! Must add, that after our fab day out, we finished up at Rhiannon's 18th birthday party, where a great night was had by all, so thanks to Mike, Rhiannon and family for that, and the super curry. We were well entertained by the cabaret!
