First channel outing

anybody going out on Sat 10th? It is my first trip out the bay.

wont be down till Fri evening, then stay on boat and sail early Sat morning. Not sure of detail with going through gate - any info. would be appreciated.

Hi Folks What time arte you going and where, I might join you.
I was out late last night I was going to come down but didn't get in till ten thought yopu might be staggering home then.

We are off to Portishead again. Meeting up with Catherine over there as she is bringing her new boat back to Cardiff on Sunday. Not sure yet what time we are leaving, but thought sometime before LW (11.11) for a sail down round the Holms then over to Weston or something like that before making our way up to Portishead.

i'm probably locking out on weds with tony as I have 4 days annual leave i had to take so i'm off for 4 days , as we want to test coresande's new sail in the channel, early tide though 06:10 ish in the morning according to bbc, hope the weather stays alright though

Did you get out through the lock then Derek? How was it for you?

Hi Shelia,
Thank you, had a good day - got out through the gate at 09:00 - caught a slight breeze so ran on sail right up too flat home, the wind then died. Eventually got round flat home, spotted another yacht but I could not identify it. Eventually picked up another breeze - good enough to put out the spinnaker - ran on that for 30Mins. or so. GPS is not wired at the moment, so my posiiton is only sight based - seem to pass the power station, then decided to return on the outboard. Got back in @ 17:15, forgot to drop the main going through the gain - got told off.
Had a good day - looking forward to the next outing with a bit more wind.
