In the club last night, the Commodore suggested the cruisers may like to change their club night From Wednesday to Thursday. Huw and I pointed out that the Yachtmaster course is on a Wednesday and we stay for a beer afterward. I think it may be good to put comments on here and add it to the agenda of the meeting tonight. I decided against trying to start a poll or add my views at this stage. Allan

From a selfish point of view, that would suit Louise and I better than a Weds. Louise only works every other Thursdaynight, she works every Wednesday night. That would save us having to drive 2 cars to the club from Bridgend, and allow at least one of us to have a proper drink, other than squash, every other week.
More broadly speaking, the Thursday evening weather forecast is clearly more accurate for the weekend weather than the Wednesday night one, so sailing planning might be a little moore precise.

I (Sheila) too agree. It doesn't really matter to either of us really which night we come. We could keep Wednesday night as the "events" night (out of season) thereby joining with the dinghy people and whoever else wants to join in, and would also enable those who have a foot in both camps (dinghies & cruisers) to be able to spend time with both groups.
Also I understand that the Yachtmaster course will only has a few more weeks sto run.

For those that missed it, it was agreed at last night's meeting that the Cruiser's night will move from a Wednesday to a Thursday from 4th March.
We're hoping to organize a talk from a local sail maker for that night - but this is to be confirmed.

Good news! as far as I'm concerned. It has always been difficult to keep up with what is going on with both the dinghys and the cruisers when we're both trying to get togrther at the same time. P
