As you may or may not know Huw & Ange (formerly of Sandpiper) have bought a new boat, a Colvic Countess (I think although I may be wrong) called Camelot. It was in Bangor and is currently being sailed back by the Arthurian legends - consisting of Huw (Arthur), Martin (Brave Sir Robin), Allan (Lancelot), Uncle Steve ( Gawain, nephew of Arthur, okay it should be uncle but hey ho) and finally Vince (Guinevere, don't ask!) Anyway according to text messages from the Brave Sir Robin at 1330 they were just passing Britannia Bridge and at 1509 they had just left the Menai straits. I will keep you posted of their progress

I hear the Brave Sir Robin and Guinevere were sharing a bunk on Thursday night! Oooh.... the mind boggles! They obviously negotiated The Swillies OK then! Look forward to hearing more. Guinevere hasn't checked in yet, last I heard they were still in Bangor.

Got a phone call from Martin this morning at 8, bad signal though so I couldn't make out a word he said. I think he may have rung just to make sure I wasn't having a lie-in! Text at 9.10 to say they are in Milford

Message at 11.44 to say that they were surrounded by dolphins! Another message at 4.38pm to say they were near the Worms Head, expecting to be in Cardiff around 1am. Excellent progress and I think the boat has been fine

Just heard at 12.30am that the tide had turned against them and our valiant knights are having to put up with 3 knots just off Lavernock Point. Nearly home, but not quite.

Vince rang about 1.10 am to say they had just come through the lock, so I went down in my jimjams to pick him up - what a dutiful wife! Must say, the new gates are fab. The first time I've had to use my new fob!

Had a text of Huw at 1.50 to say that the intrepid crew were back home and that the boat fits in the berth beautifully. Well done all.

Yep, we all arrived back early this morning. I think we've all been tired, and cold at points, but, to a man, enjoyed it immensely. It was expertly planned and executed by Huw, and we all pulled our weight. Spirits were as high as I've seen on a boat with 5 guys on top of each other for two days and nights, and the craic was really good. I think we all enjoyed it hugely. I have pics and vids, and a longer description to follow when I wake up a bit, but for now, thanks to Huw, Allan, Vince and Steve for being great company, and it was a great trip, one that I will remember for a long, long time. Cheers lads. Oh, and if any videos appear here that seem to suggest otherwise, don't pay too much attention.......
