Wednesday 19th August was a glorious evening, warm and sunny. Vince and I went out for a little sail, couldn't decide where to go and then thought that we would try waht we have intended to do for some while - negotiate the Rhmney River. There was plenty of water - rising tide if I remember, so there were no real worries about going aground, but it was quite tricky negotiating the deep water channel into the river. The entrance to the river was quite hard to find too. The entrance is supposedly marked by sticks and buoys but we could only see one stick and one buoy. Entrance to the river The stick and a can! Once in the river it was quite easy to negotiate. Very interesting to see the road to Tesco Extra from a different view point! Rhymney River Sailing Club
