Does anyone know where I can purchase fuel for an Origo spirt stove. I have trawled internet and had more luck buying Rocking horse manure, than denatured alcohol Ta

I found normal methylated spirit worked fine. You could buy the clear stuff in French supermarkets but while it smelt less when burning, it was worse when cold. I used to cover the cooker with a damp tea towel at night. Allan

I bought mine at 'go outdoors' on Newport road. It's bio- ethanol spirit fuel they sell as a replacement for meths. £15 for 5ltrs with a discount card. I can let you have some to try if you want. Nev.

I bought Methylated Spirits in 5l containers on ebay. I used it for over a year on Manyana. It was an excellent cooker.

They used to sell meths in 5l containers at 'go outdoors but I find the bio- ethanol replacement is just as good. You can still buy meths in 300ml bottles in shops but it's at least twice the price compared to buying it in the 5l container.
