I think the race could be described as exciting! 11 boats started with Megiala not finishing due to a broken tiller. They got home safely. The results, for which I have received a certain amount of stick, are below.
Boat name. Corrected time.
Chausey. 4.20 LesAnne. 4.23 Caswyn. 4.26 Xanadu. 4.32 Goose pimple. 4.33 Joker. 4.35 Pointer. 4.36 High spirit. 4.51 Shooting star. 4.57 Drifter. 4.59
The food supplied by Rowena and others went down a storm. The music was great, although most people had unfortunately left by then. The next races will be during the club regatta, I'm sure most people would like a little less wind for that weekend. Our next tidal race will be the Race for the 50 mile trophy, on 27th September which will incorporate the Coxy cup. We need plenty of boats that day, to ensure the cup stays at CYC! Many thanks to all involved and all who braved the conditions, especially Neville and Liz who sailed the 22 foot Joker, respect! Allan

I'm glad you all survived. I motored across the bay and had trouble getting onto the moorings as there was so much wind Saturday. Rather you lot than me (heh)!

Great day! Many thanks to Allan for organising (and congratulations for winning) this event. Fantastic to see yacht racing so strong at CYC with such a close result. After a race that took most boats between 4 1/2 to 5 hours, using Byron handicaps and in challenging conditions, we were all so close together.
Look forward to the next one (and yes, less wind please!)
