to Gloucester”
Friday 18th April-Monday 21st April
General Passage Plan
On the morning of Good Friday rendezvous at King Road with your “buddy” boat and make passage in company aiming to arrive at Sharpness Docks 30 mins. before H.W.(10.43 BST) and onward to make Gloucester Docks by Friday afternoon. Friday evening drinks at Gloucester Yacht Club. Saturday spend all day in Gloucester with dinner in Vinings in the Docks area and afterwards drinks at Gloucester Yacht Club. Sunday make passage back down the canal, stopping off for lunch, arriving at the Sharpness end of the canal (must be Sharpness side of the Purton Lower Swing bridge before 18.00 BST) Sunday evening eat on-board. Monday morning lock out of Sharpness at H.W. 12.44 BST (The Port requirement is to be in the lock 2 hours before H.W. which enables all boats to pass through the two swing bridges at Sharpness in one group).

Reduced locking fee at Sharpness only applies if we arrive as a group on Good Friday morning and leave together on Easter Monday morning. If you want to travel outside these dates then you will pay the full Locking fee.
1. Firstly you need to apply on-line for your licence through British Waterways website “waterscape “ secure.britishwaterways.co.uk/short-term Click on “buy a short term licence” and just follow it through.
2. Send your licence number, boat name and skipper contact details along with a cheque for £10* made payable to Portishead Cruising Club to cover locking in/out of Sharpness to me to be received absolutely no later than Friday 11 April!

* Please note the Sharpness Locking in/out charge of £10 has the following stipulations:- minimum of 20 boats (or if less that 20 boats £15), they all arrive and depart together, each boat must purchase their canal licence on-line, and one cheque is used for all the boats lock payment.
