This was an excellent evening. Thanks for arranging it Matt.
Following on from the talk, it reminded us to test our lifejackets again(which we did last year). The jacket that Vince has been using started to deflate immediately it had been blown up. The one that I have been using was OK, but we decided to go and buy 2 new ones, leaving mine as a spare. And we bought automatic rather than manual jackets, as Laurie said, should you find yourself unfortunately in the water will you be in a fit state of mind to be finding the pull cord?
As a "by the way" you may have been advised not to inflate your jacket by mouth as it apparently leaves moisture inside the bladder. However, the published instructions and care note for our new jackets states that jackets should be tested regularly by orally inflating them. So....

Laurie and the guys will hopefully be down again in the spring to test anyone's jackets. I'll post more details of this when I have it.
