piston hank maintenance

Anyone got any advice on maintenance of bronze piston hanks. I have recently bought 2 used sails and the hanks on both show signs of corrosion - presumably from salt water. Is there anything i should use to prevent further corrosion...and should they be lubricated, if so with what??

Tim, Clean the hanks with a suede brush and give them a coat of silicone spray. Cheers J.M.
