To clear up a couple of points.
No, we don't have an AIS transmitter just a receiver and the InReach tracker.
I received a message on the tracker giving me a position for Blue Bear which was about 5-600 miles south of us. When we got closer to where I thought we would cross, I started calling them on the VHF. Although I got no reply I'm convince that for some time the nearest boat to us was a fellow CYC member! Small world?

Allan and John are now moored up in Fort Lauderdale. Well done both of you. It is really interesting watching your progress, made easy by Martin. Good Luck for the rest of your voyage. Brian King, Comm..

Well, I'm sat by Chris and Dens (John's brother and sister-in-law) pool, with Elba moored at the bottom of the garden. I have a beer in my hand and I'm damp as it has rained most of the day. I can't believe it, we sailed to America! I'll post more later. Allan PS The Lundy results are awesome, well done to all of you!

I think I've managed to save that video. If so, I'll post it here. Allan can keep a copy then when he gets back.

Another little chapter in the story. We were sat by the pool, having a beer, yesterday and John's wife and two daughters suddenly appeared. This was about 5 minutes after John had been moaning that his family don't answer their phone! Allan

Yes I have been online. We are staying in Florida until the weekend, then sailing north, probably to Charleston. After a couple of days there we will set off on the last leg back to Dartmouth. Allan

So things change and move on. We are leaving in the morning and heading directly for Dartmouth England. So the tracker will be on in the morning and we will be drinking proper beer in about 40 days. Allan

Just had a last email from Allan and John. They are just about to leave. Weather looks good for the next few days. They will try and follow the gulf stream, and I will try and keep them in it, and provide weather forecasts.
See you soon, lads.

How comforting it must be for them (or anyone really) to have someone like you at home keeping an eye Martin. (Tee hee, I always feel a bit naughty when I say things like keeping an eye out in the same sentence as reference to Allan!)

235 nautical miles and a heading of 69 degrees which is pretty close to what they are doing will put them over the last resting palce of the Titanic.n just under 2 days

Allan is about 1000 miles away now. I'm not getting any texts from him any more, but still sending weather reports - no idea if he's getting them. More importantly, I don't know if he got my message about the second Lions test.

That's probably why he hasn't replied. He's gutted because Edwina has taped it for him and he didn't want to know the score. Plus the fact he hasn't had a beer for some time now You watch how fast they come up the Bristol Channel when he smells the fumes from Brains brewery. ;D ;D The lads are doing well though !!

I see Allan and John are making excellent progress. Another 4 to 5 days should see them safely back. Well done both of you. I don't think there will be any T.V. coverage on this leg. Brian K..
